Talent from Ceará on the podium

Talento cearense no pódio

Instituto Aço Cearense

Concerned with investing in the three pillars of sustainability—economic, environmental, and social—the Aço Cearense Group created the Aço Cearense Institute, which operates correctly and responsibly, aligning its business with socially engaged management and expanding initiatives to combat poverty and marginalization. For this reason, the IAC sponsors young karateka Jonathan Benvindo, who participated in a stage of the Brazilian Karate Championship from March 22nd to 26th in Caruaru, Pernambuco. He placed first in two competitions and qualified for the Pan-American Championship in August in Argentina and the Brazilian Championship final in October in Bahia.

Who is Jonathan?

Sponsored by the Instituto Aço Cearense since October 2015, young karateka Jonathan Benvindo is 14 years old and in the 9th grade at the Nely Caula public school in Caucaia, the municipality where he lives. He is a student at the Associação Escola de Campeões (School of Champions Association), an institution also supported by the IAC, where he participates in swimming, futsal, theater, and guitar.
Jonathan has been part of the Ceará team for 6 years, in 2016 he won 1st place in the Ceará Ranking and 4th in the Brazil Ranking, where he competes in the Karate Cadets 14 and 15 years old category, weighing less than 45 kg.
