The previous Saturday, the 17th, Vilmar Ferreira, president of Grupo Aço Cearense, participated in the Fortaleza Municipal Secretariat Meeting at the invitation of Mayor Roberto Claudio. Fifty years ago, Vilmar Ferreira left his hometown of Marco, in the interior of Ceará, to live in Fortaleza; it was the beginning of a story that would transform a rural man into a successful businessman. In his lecture "The Journey of an Entrepreneur," the president of Grupo Aço Cearense recounts his career path since arriving in the capital and how he built one of the largest business groups in the state.
The Aço Cearense Group, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this October, is a leader in the steel industry in the North and Northeast regions. It currently has four companies and an institute with operations in Ceará, Pará, and Tocantins: Aço Cearense Comercial, Aço Cearense Industrial, SINOBRAS, SINOBRAS Florestal, and Instituto Aço Cearense.
