Grupo Aço Cearense faz doação de testes de Covid-19 e cilindros de oxigênio para hospitais do município de São Gonçalo do Amarante

Amid the delicate moment caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, many challenges have emerged in almost every sector of the country, but especially in healthcare. In Ceará, the situation has worsened even further in recent weeks, and in solidarity with the state's plight, the Aço Cearense Group donated COVID-19 tests and oxygen cylinders to the municipality of São Gonçalo do Amarante.

The partnership, established with the City Hall, aims to support the city's hospitals and health centers. According to Ian Correa, vice president of operations at Grupo Aço Cearense, the cylinders were provided until the end of the pandemic. "Since COVID-19 compromises the respiratory system, oxygen is crucial for treatment and provides greater comfort during patients' recovery. We sympathize with the grief of those who lost family members and are committed to helping as much as possible so that more people have the opportunity to return home to their families cured. We also donated tests so that the city can more effectively detect those affected by the virus. If everyone does their part, we gain strength in prevention," he emphasizes.

The Aço Cearense Group has been carrying out initiatives since April 2020, through the Aço Cearense Institute and its companies, to mitigate the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. In Marabá, SINOBRAS, a Group company, has already donated oxygen cylinders to the Marabá city government, in addition to numerous other campaigns donating basic food baskets, masks, and cleaning and personal hygiene supplies to underserved communities in the regions where the Group operates.
