Grupo Aço Cearense fala sobre o projeto Favela 3D no Conexão ODS

The UN Global Compact in Brazil held the SDG Connection event in October, an initiative that promoted discussions related to the 2030 Agenda's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), social and environmental issues, corporate governance, and how to advance social impact. Aline Ferreira, vice president of sales and finance at Grupo Aço Cearense, participated in the event on the 20th, speaking about the Favela 3D Project (digital, dignified, and developed) in Fortaleza. Grupo Aço Cearense set up a booth at the event, and attendees were able to participate in games and win prizes. The event was attended by a large number of company employees.

Favela 3D is organized by the NGOs Gerando Falcões and Pensando Bem, led by Edu Lyra and Rutênio Florêncio, respectively, and supported by the Instituto Aço Cearense, chaired by Rosemeire Matos. The initiative aims to develop initiatives focused on social urbanism and overcoming poverty in Beco Céu, located in the Vila Velha neighborhood of Fortaleza. The proposal is to systematically eradicate poverty, working based on an impact mandala that encompasses different areas, such as housing, health, education, citizenship, culture, early childhood, the environment, income generation, sports, and leisure.

We must think about tomorrow

The UN Global Compact in Brazil, in partnership with Somos Um, a non-profit organization that exists to reduce social inequalities and create opportunities through impact businesses, all debates and panels were designed to discuss actions and means to achieve sustainable development goals and promote social transformations throughout Brazil, expanding the debate beyond the Southeast region. The entire program took place at Beach Park, a tourist complex in Aquiraz, Ceará, which is one of the companies participating in the UN Global Compact in Brazil. Internationally renowned figures, such as Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus and Raj Sisodia, co-founder of Conscious Capitalism, were among the guests at the three-day event on ESG topics.

The event was closed to guests, but had full coverage from the Verdes Mares System, which had a studio inside the event, where interviews and live inserts were conducted. The event was broadcast live on YouTube, through the Diário do Nordeste channel.
