In preparation for the Pan American Karate Championship that will take place next month in Ecuador, the athlete sponsored by Instituto Aço Cearense, Jonathan Benvindo, will compete next Saturday, August 3, in the Pernambuco National Karate Open.
With over 200 medals in competitions, the young athlete is fighting to reach the world championships, which will take place in Chile in November of this year. The Pernambuco competition counts toward his national ranking, which could lead him to the World Championships. "I'm confident I'll achieve a good score at the Pernambuco Open, which will also be a good opportunity to evaluate my performance for the Pan American Games, which will take place a few days later," explained the athlete.
Last weekend was a weekend of victories for athlete Lisandra Dantas, from the Contracting department at Aço Cearense Industrial Matriz, sponsored by the Instituto Aço Cearense. On Saturday (27), she participated in the Beach Run Brasil – Paracuru Stage, where she took 3rd place in the women's 5 km overall category. According to the athlete, it was a challenging course. "There were strong winds on the 5 km return leg, uphill and downhill sections, hot sun, and most of the course was on loose sand," she said.
On Sunday, she competed in the Fortaleza Youth Race and placed first overall in the women's 5K race. "I thank God for the results. He alone gives me strength and is my foundation for everything. I'm very happy!"
