Aço Cearense Industrial Matriz received the SUEZ Proof-not-Promises Award on October 18th for its work in maintaining the cooling system's water treatment system, which reduced machine outages while simultaneously saving water. The ceremony took place at the Mercure Fortaleza Hotel.
The Award aims to recognize the work companies do in the environmental field. The awards are presented in several countries and take into account evidence of energy and water savings. By choosing the best projects that demonstrate these changes, companies are encouraged to innovate and adopt best practices.
Representing Aço Cearense Industrial, Rosemeire Matos, the company's Administrative Director, commented on the achievement: "It's a great pleasure to receive this trophy. We were recognized for a job well done, so I can only thank SUEZ and our entire team for their hard work, which resulted in savings for the company. Today, we have better water quality and improved reuse. I'm grateful and very happy with this result," she said during the event.
Kleber Anastácio, Maintenance Coordinator at Aço Cearense Industrial and responsible for the initiative, commented: "In addition to the savings, with this work we were able to reverse corrosion and clogging issues in our industrial water cooling system, which were causing machine interruptions and production downtime."
With the project, Aço Cearense Industrial has already managed to reduce consumption by 1,800,000 liters of water per year, generating annual savings of R$ 92,552.00.
