SINOBRAS Florestal employees participate in blood donation campaign

Colaboradores da SINOBRAS Florestal participam de campanha de doação de sangue

Last week, employees of SINOBRAS Florestal, a company of the Aço Cearense Group, once again demonstrated that solidarity plays an essential role in these difficult times by participating in a blood donation drive. In partnership with the Augustinópolis, Tocantins, blood bank, the drive was organized by the company's Specialized Service for Safety and Health in Rural Work, with support from the São Bento do Tocantins Health Department.

Due to the scarcity of donations during the pandemic, initiatives like these are necessary to ensure blood banks' supplies, as explained by SINOBRAS Florestal manager Juliane Ellem Costa. "Whenever possible, we partner with our teams to donate, knowing that it's a simple act that can save many lives, especially during this pandemic, when maintaining blood bank supplies is even more crucial."

All donors underwent evaluation by the company and the blood center. To donate, participants must be in good health, between 16 and 69 years old, weigh at least 50 kilograms, and have been well-fed in the last 24 hours. Furthermore, all health precautions were taken to avoid any risk to participants. For the donors, this mission was rewarding. "Those who are already donors should continue donating, and those who aren't, but can be, can start. I'm grateful to help those who need our help more than ever," says employee Mauro de Jesus.

The Aço Cearense Group has been working hard to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic in all the states where it operates—Tocantins, Ceará, and Pará. Many donations have been made through the Aço Cearense Institute and also through the Group's companies, including basic food baskets, hygiene kits, oxygen cylinders, medications, and more.
