Instituto Aço Cearense holds programs on Children's Day

Instituto Aço Cearense realiza programações no Dia das Crianças

In order to celebrate Children's Day with the supported institutions, the Instituto Aço Cearense (IAC) promoted a series of fun activities for children served by entities located in Caucaia - CE and Marabá - PA.
On the 11th, 49 children from the Associação Escola de Campeões (AEC), located in Caucaia, spent the morning at Shopping Benfica, attending a movie and theater show, as well as playing and having a snack. The event was held in partnership with Shopping Benfica through the 2019 Happy Morning Project. The following day (12), in partnership with SESC Fortaleza, the Instituto Aço Cearense took another 70 children from the AEC for a morning of games and fun at SESC, including popcorn, cotton candy, and snacks. To end the week, the Instituto Aço Cearense and the Escola de Campeões held a special program on a farm on Saturday (19) for 160 children aged 6 to 12 served by the institution. There were games, a pool swim, snacks, treats, and the delivery of gifts and toys.
For Maria dos Prazeres, mother of João Abraão, an AEC student who participated in the program on the 11th, which included a movie screening, the moment was remarkable. "We had never been to the movies before. I loved watching the film with my son. I still can't believe that after 40 years of age, I was able to go to the movies. I'm feeling like a kid again," she commented emotionally.
In Marabá, on October 15th, the Institute took 45 children from the Child and Adolescent Assistance Foundation (FUNCAD), located in Marabá, Amapá, for a tour of the Marabá Zoo and Botanical Park. The children learned about the 35 different species sheltered by the institution, including tortoises, parrots, macaws, hawks, monkeys, jaguars, deer, tapirs, and wild pigs. "It was really cool! We saw so many animals. I'd never seen a jaguar up close," said 7-year-old Heitor Sedrigo.
