2nd edition of IAC Social benefits 500 people with free services

2ª edição do IAC Social beneficia 500 pessoas com serviços gratuitos

Designed for the whole family, with a variety of activities for children and adults, IAC Social held a series of activities in Caucaia on May 18th, another free service offering for the municipality's residents. The event brought together approximately 500 people for a day of leisure, culture, and social development.
"This is the second IAC SOCIAL, a way to bring a little solidarity to this community so in need of the services we're offering. It's a unique and enjoyable moment, because with this humanitarian, supportive work, we give a little of ourselves, and the community feels welcomed, humanized, and valued," celebrates Rosemeire Matos, president of the Instituto Aço Cearense and the creator of the social initiative.
Among the activities, the NGO Cepe Vive held a workshop on making mandalas using recycled CDs. Maninha Parente, a crafts teacher and member of the NGO, worked on reusing materials that would otherwise go to waste, transforming them into crafts. "If everyone turned trash into art, it would be better for the planet. For the community, it's also a potential source of income," shared Parente.
Maria Lúcia, who attended the event with her niece Rita Alice, took the opportunity to check on her health while her grandchildren ran around participating in the activities offered in the Camurupim neighborhood. "We've never been here before, and we're enjoying it. I've already had blood tests and checked my blood pressure, while the kids are having fun," said Maria.
The program included beauty and aesthetic services, blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, and vaccinations, as well as physical activities such as Zumba and water aerobics. Participants also received access to services from the Child Protective Services Council and the Single Registry, as well as a lecture on oral health and an exhibition on the Aedes aegypti mosquito and arboviruses. Children participated in activities with toys and plaster painting, as well as musical entertainment.
