Helping people in socially vulnerable situations has always been one of the purposes of the Instituto Aço Cearense, proof of this was another solidarity action carried out on August 24th with the purpose of collecting pieces of clothing.
More than 150 Aço Cearense Group employees participated. The collected items will be used to hold a bazaar at institutions served by the Aço Cearense Institute. The more than 150 Aço Cearense employees who donated received a McDonald's Big Mac voucher. The event was also part of Mc Happy Day, where proceeds from sales went to the Peter Pan Association, supporting the institution's work fighting childhood and adolescent cancer in Ceará.
Denísio Queiroz, from the Property Security department at Aço Cearense Industrial Matriz, said: "Campaigns like this are very good, very important. Winning the sandwich is another incentive, but helping is the main thing. I believe we reap what we sow, and if I volunteer to help someone, God provides a reward for each of us," he commented. Raquel Ribeiro, Security Technician at Aço Cearense Comercial Branch 2000, also participated: "I really enjoyed it; it was an opportunity the company provided for us to donate clothes to those in need," she said.
The clothing drive also took place at SINOBRAS and SINOBRAS Florestal.
