The 3rd edition of Pedalando pela Paz, promoted by the Instituto Aço Cearense, took place in Caucaia on August 18th, in partnership with the Clara de Assis Charitable Home. The event combined sports and leisure, with the aim of spreading a culture of peace in the community.
Participating families were even provided with a small train to transport children under 5, while a sound truck kept the atmosphere going along the route. The mobilization also included support from the Municipal Traffic, Public Services and Citizenship Authority and the Fire Department.
At the end of the route, the groups Clara Música and Projeto Sementes da Esperança performed musical performances. Rosemeire Matos, President of the Instituto Aço Cearense and Administrative Director of Aço Cearense Industrial, said: "This event is just the beginning of what we can achieve if we come together. We hope to have many more people attending next year," she said.
Employees from Aço Cearense Comercial and Aço Cearense Industrial attended Pedalando pela Paz, including Gilberto Silva, the Brazilian Paracycling champion. "I'm very happy to be present at Pedalando pela Paz once again and encourage our children to practice sports and overcome challenges," he said.
The Instituto Aço Cearense provided water, snacks, and a bicycle raffle. The winner was Jean Alysson Silva, a beneficiary of Lar de Clara.
